Job summary

Pembrokeshire Direct Payments is seeking a compassionate Personal Assistant to support a Direct Payments client in Pembrokeshire. The role centers on enabling the client to manage their care needs within their home and community, with a focus on promoting independence and informed decision-making.

The PA will provide companionship, assist with daily living tasks, accompany appointments, and help develop life skills while maintaining a respectful and supportive approach to care.

Qualifications

• Support client to maintain independence and decision-making

Responsibilities

• Provide support to DP recipient and mother with medical appointments
• Develop life skills such as cooking and cleaning
• Eat meals that they have cooked together
• Provide mum with respite for chores, errands and meals
• Provide personal care needs, including washing and toileting
• Support the client in gaining independence
• Enable social interactions in the community
• Support shopping and activities of interest
• Develop independent living skills
• Provide companionship and social interaction at home
• Encourage attendance at appointments
• Ensure safety during working hours
• Carry out other reasonable tasks as requested
• Be mindful of safeguarding issues and report concerns
• Contact GP, Social Worker or Local Authority if medical assistance is needed
