Job summary

Windhill21 is seeking a Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant to join our school on a permanent basis. You will work with teachers to support teaching and learning, providing general and targeted assistance to pupils under supervision.

Hours are Monday to Wednesday, 8:30am to 3:15pm, with flexibility discussed for the right candidate. Pay is £26,016 per annum FTE, pro-rata for 18.75 hours per week, term time only.

Qualifications

• Assist teaching staff to support learning and provide general and targeted help to pupils.
• Lead focused intervention sessions to reinforce key concepts.
• Support pupils to understand instructions and encourage independent learning.
• Support teacher in behaviour management and keeping pupils on task.
• Prepare and organise learning resources and maintain a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with individuals or small groups under supervision and provide feedback to the teacher.
• Lead focused intervention sessions to reinforce key concepts.
• Support pupils to understand instructions, facilitate independent learning and inclusion.
• Observe pupils, record understanding and provide real-time feedback during lessons.
• Support teacher with positive behaviour management and keeping pupils on task.
• Prepare and help organise learning environment and resources.
