Job summary

Woolden Hill Primary School is seeking a caring Learning Support Assistant to work alongside our teaching team, supporting pupils' learning and wellbeing. The role focuses on helping pupils reach their full potential in a supportive, engaging classroom.

This fixed-term appointment runs until 19 August 2027, with hours 27.5 per week during term-time plus inset days. The successful candidate will assist with lessons, supervise groups, and help create stimulating materials and displays.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
• Previous experience supporting teaching and learning in a school setting.
• Understanding of child protection and health & safety procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to motivate and engage students.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in preparing and delivering engaging lessons.
• Assist individuals and small groups with learning activities.
• Provide feedback on pupil engagement and progress.
• Encourage positive behaviour and emotional development.
• Prepare and use learning materials, including ICT resources.
• Help create stimulating classroom displays.
