Job summary

Barnhill Community High School is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work 30 hours per week, term-time plus 5 inset days, Monday to Friday, 8am to 3pm. The role supports pupils, including those with special needs, under teaching staff guidance to enable access to learning.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Flexible in approach to support the whole team.
• Qualifications in TEFL, TESOL or CELTA are desirable.
• Experience of working with students who have additional languages within relevant age groups.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring safety and access to learning.
• Assist with development and implementation of SEND support plans and EHCPs.
• Attend to pupils' personal needs and implement related personal programmes (social, health, physical, medical, hygiene, welfare).
• Supervise and support pupils to ensure safety and access to learning.
