Job summary

Astro Education are supporting a specialist SEN school in South Manchester to appoint a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) on a full-time, permanent basis. You will work with teachers and the pastoral team to provide learning and behavioural support in small SEN/SEMH classes.

The role starts ASAP, with a straight-to-permanent route after induction. The school offers a supportive team, small class sizes and the chance to make a real difference in pupils' lives.

Qualifications

• Experience working in SEN/SEMH settings or similar specialist environment.
• Ability to support learning and behavioural development in small classes.
• Strong communication and teamwork with staff and pupils.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across small SEN/SEMH classes.
• Deliver learning activities and interventions as directed by staff.
• Provide individual and small-group support to pupils.
• Assist with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
• Help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff and leaders.
