Job summary

Sellick Partnership is recruiting an Employment Solicitor to join a leading Employment team in York. The role covers a blend of contentious and non-contentious matters, advisory work, and active client relationship management.

Candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' PQE in employment law, with experience advising employers in a busy department. There is an emphasis on relationship-building, business development, and mentoring junior colleagues within a supportive firm environment.

Job description

We are working with a highly ranked, Legal 500 firm who are seeking an Employment Solicitor (minimum 3 years' PQE) to join their Employment team.

You will enjoy a varied workload combining contentious and non-contentious employment matters, advisory work, and support on transactional projects, while also playing an active role in client relationship management, business development and team development.

What you'll be doing:

• Advising on a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious employment and general advisory matters
• Managing your own caseload and developing strong, long-term client relationships
• Supporting transactional teams on employment aspects of corporate, commercial, restructuring and insolvency matters
• Assisting senior colleagues on complex work while mentoring and supervising junior members of the team

About you:

• Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 3 years' PQE, specialising in employment law
• Experience gained predominantly advising employers, ideally within a busy, well-regarded employment team
• Strong technical knowledge with the ability to advise clients confidently and pragmatically
• Commercially minded, relationship-focused, and comfortable working across multiple sectors
