Job summary

Sellick Partnership is seeking an Employment Solicitor to join a highly regarded Legal 500 firm in Hull. The role offers a varied workload across contentious and non-contentious employment, advisory work, and involvement in client relationship management and business development.

You will manage your own caseload, support transactional teams on employment aspects of corporate matters, and mentor junior members of the team in a busy practice.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 3 years' PQE specializing in employment law.
• Experience advising employers in a busy employment team is preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge and ability to advise confidently and pragmatically.

Responsibilities

• Advising on a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
• Managing your own caseload and developing long-term client relationships.
• Supporting transactional teams on employment aspects of corporate, commercial, restructuring and insolvency matters.

You will enjoy a varied workload combining contentious and non-contentious employment matters, advisory work, and support on transactional projects, while also playing an active role in client relationship management, business development and team development.

What you'll be doing:

• Advising on a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious employment and general advisory matters
• Managing your own caseload and developing strong, long-term client relationships
• Supporting transactional teams on employment aspects of corporate, commercial, restructuring and insolvency matters
• Assisting senior colleagues on complex work while mentoring and supervising junior members of the team

About you:

• Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 3 years' PQE, specialising in employment law
• Experience gained predominantly advising employers, ideally within a busy, well-regarded employment team
• Strong technical knowledge with the ability to advise clients confidently and pragmatically
• Commercially minded, relationship-focused, and comfortable working across multiple sectors
