Job summary

Vincere in Leeds is seeking an Employment Lawyer to join a market-leading national team. You will handle a mix of contentious and non-contentious matters, advise on a broad range of issues, and work closely with senior lawyers to grow the practice.

The role offers a platform to develop client relationships, contribute to BD, and progress within a national team while collaborating with Partners and other senior staff.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with employment law experience and genuine interest in the area.
• Typically 3–6 years’ PQE, though strong candidates outside this range will be considered.
• Excellent technical knowledge and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Advising employers on a wide range of employment issues including redundancy and disciplinary matters.
• Defending Employment Tribunal claims, drafting defences, bundles and witness statements.
• Supporting colleagues with caseloads and contributing to business development.
• Drafting articles and legal updates; assisting with client relationship building.
• Working to client and internal service levels and contributing to targets.

Employment Lawyer

Location: Leeds

Salary: £55,000 to £75,000 (depending on experience)

Experience: 3 to 6 years’ PQE (strong candidates outside this range will be considered)

Our client is looking to hire an Employment Lawyer into a market-leading national Employment, Pensions and Immigration team, based in Leeds. This is a strong opportunity if you want a broad employment caseload, high-quality employer clients, and the chance to work closely with senior lawyers as the team continues to grow.

You will handle a mix of contentious and non-contentious employment matters, with real scope to build client relationships, contribute to business development, and develop your profile through training and thought leadership.

This role offers a genuine platform to progress within a national team with strong client relationships. You will work alongside Partners and play an active part in driving the practice forward.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Advising employers on a wide range of employment issues, including redundancy, disciplinary and grievance matters, whistleblowing, discrimination and detriment claims
• Defending Employment Tribunal claims, including drafting defences, bundles, witness statements and merits reports
• Supporting colleagues with their caseloads as appropriate
• Drafting articles and legal updates
• Supporting business development activity, including training and networking
• Working in line with client and internal service levels and internal procedures
• Contributing to team financial and utilisation targets

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Solicitor with previous employment law experience and a genuine interest in this area
• Typically 3 to 6 years’ PQE, although strong candidates outside this range will be considered
• Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task, work to deadlines and work to targets
• Strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills
