Job summary

JD Sports Fashion PLC is seeking an Employee Relations Advisor to deliver proactive ER support across Retail, Gyms, Supply Chain, and Head Office. Based in Bury with travel to Kingsway and other Head Office locations, you will provide first-line ER guidance, manage disciplinary and absence matters, and coach line managers to effective resolutions.

You will join a fast-paced People team, maintaining GDPR-compliant records and up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation.

Qualifications

• CIPD Level 5 qualification (Level 3 may be considered with substantial HR generalist experience).
• Prior HR/People Advisor experience in a fast-paced retail environment is essential.
• Strong knowledge of employment legislation and Employee Relations policies.
• Ability to take minutes in formal meetings and document interactions accurately.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Proficient Office365 and HR systems experience; Dayforce is advantageous.
• Attention to detail and ability to adapt in a changing environment.
• Flexibility to work outside standard hours for a 24/7 operation if required.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line employee relations advice to Line Managers and staff across groups.
• Manage disciplinary, grievance, absence management and family-friendly matter guidance.
• Coach Line Managers to resolve ER matters and support meetings.
• Maintain GDPR-compliant audit trails and timely HR processes.
• Collaborate with People Leadership team to ensure fair application of policies.
• Stay updated on current employment legislation and case law.
• Support project work as needed.
