Job summary

EY in Birmingham is seeking an Employee Relations Advisor to join our HR team. You will provide high‑quality advice on absence, disciplinary, grievance, and performance matters, ensuring decisions comply with employment law and EY policy.

You will manage a caseload, escalate complex issues to the HR Manager, and maintain strong relationships with line managers while keeping data protection and SLAs in focus.

Qualifications

• At least two years’ professional HR experience in a large corporate organisation.
• Strong knowledge of employment law and HR processes.
• Experience in employee relations case management.
• Ability to coach and advise managers to ensure consistency and risk mitigation.
• Experience in a service delivery environment with front-line advising and video calls.

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality Employee Relations advice to managers on absence, disciplinary, grievance, performance management and safeguarding.
• Manage a caseload in a timely manner in line with SLAs and EY policies.
• Escalate complex queries to the HR Manager and determine appropriate actions.
• Maintain data protection compliance in all cases.
• Record case updates in HR systems and track through to closure and client resolution.
• Build trusted relationships with the business and collaborate with the ER team.
• Stay up to date with process changes to ensure consistent, accurate advice.
• Contribute to wider HR projects and initiatives as required.
