Job summary

Mitie is seeking an Employee Relations Advisor to join the People Team in a hybrid role. You will provide expert employee relations advice to managers across the business, ensuring fair and compliant outcomes while supporting a great place to work for colleagues.

You will manage complex ER cases, advise on legislation, policies, and collaborate with Legal and Occupational Health to address conciliation cases and tribunal matters. CIPD study support is available.

Qualifications

• Experience in employee relations across UK employment law.
• Ability to advise, coach and support managers on ER matters.
• Experience working in a HR Shared Services environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of complex employee relations cases, ensuring fair, compliant and commercially focused outcomes.
• Advise, coach and support managers on employee relations matters in line with employment legislation, company policies and best practice.
• Build effective working relationships with senior stakeholders, the wider HR team and business leaders across Mitie.
• Collaborate with Legal and Occupational Health partners on Early Conciliation cases, Employment Tribunal claims and employee wellbeing matters.
• Review employee relations policies and processes, making recommendations and supporting the implementation of continuous improvements.

Role Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of complex employee relations cases, ensuring fair, compliant and commercially focused outcomes.
• Advise, coach and support managers on employee relations matters in line with employment legislation, company policies and best practice.
• Build effective working relationships with senior stakeholders, the wider HR team and business leaders across Mitie.

What We're Looking For

• Strong knowledge of employee relations policies, procedures and UK employment law of varied complexity
• Experience managing a varied employee relations caseload with confidence and professionalism
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and coach managers effectively.
• A people-focused approach, demonstrating respect, discretion and confidentiality at all times.
• Experience working within a HR Shared Services environment is desirable.
• A curious and solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to adapt your approach to different situations.
• Ideally CIPD qualified at Level 3 or Level 5, with support available for further professional development.
