Job summary

Altrincham Grammar School for Girls is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to work with a Year 8 student with an EHCP. The role is part-time, term-time only, and fixed for 6 months, with reviews biannually.

The successful candidate will join a small team and support learning, wellbeing and inclusion throughout the school day. The post requires empathy, reliability and a willingness to undertake relevant training; safeguarding and CPD opportunities are provided to enhance professional

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with SEND.
• Willingness to undergo relevant training.
• Empathetic and motivated with a team approach.

Responsibilities

• Understand the specific needs of the student and build rapport.
• Support learning in class and during activities, indoors and out.
• Promote self-esteem, independence and social inclusion.
• Assist with the student’s transfer to and from the school site.
• Provide social and emotional support including wellbeing resources.
• Liaise with the SENDCO and class teacher regarding progress.
• Contribute to safeguarding, behaviour management and admin tasks.
