Job summary

William Hulme’s Grammar School is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support students with learning difficulties in the secondary phase. The role involves assisting with lessons and providing a calm, patient presence in class.

The successful candidate will have SEND experience, a Level 3 TA qualification or be willing to enrol on the Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship. Good numeracy/literacy and ICT skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with SEND children, including those with EHCPs and autism.
• Good numeracy and literacy.
• ICT skills and ability to use school systems.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching staff in delivering lessons in mainstream classes.
• Support students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities during class activities.
• Communicate with parents and contribute to a positive school environment.
• Assist with the development of the Resourced Provision to support vulnerable pupils.
