Job summary

The Isle of Man Government invites applications for an Emergency Services Joint Control Room Operator on a limited 18-month appointment. Based in the Joint Control Room, you will handle urgent calls and dispatch critical assistance across Police, Fire and Ambulance in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.

You will join a highly trained team, receive specialist training, and have the opportunity to qualify as Emergency Medical Dispatcher and Emergency Fire Dispatcher, developing essential lifesaving

• Calm, clear and confident communication under pressure in urgent situations.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple services and relay critical information accurately.
• Excellent listening skills and situational awareness to prioritise incidents.

Responsibilities

• Answer emergency calls and dispatch Police, Fire and Ambulance as required.
• Coordinate and relay information quickly to emergency teams and responders.
• Maintain accurate incident logs and support the control room operations.

As an Emergency Services Joint Control Room Operator, you’ll be the vital link between the public and emergency services, handling urgent calls and dispatching critical assistance. In a fast-paced, 24/7 environment, your communication and computer skills will help coordinate life‑saving responses across Police, Fire, and Ambulance teams.
