Job summary

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service is seeking two temporary Fire Control Operators to join a busy control room environment. You will handle 999 calls, gather key information, and ensure the right fire appliances and crews are dispatched with suitable equipment.

You will work closely with fire crews, other emergency services and supporting agencies to manage incidents through to conclusion. Ideal candidates will be level-headed, enthusiastic, and able to work quickly and accurately under

• Experience in a call-taking environment.
• Ability to think fast and remain calm under pressure.
• Willingness to work as part of a small team in a busy control room.

Responsibilities

• Answer 999 calls in a calm and professional manner.
• Gather critical information and dispatch appropriate fire and rescue resources.
• Monitor ongoing incidents and support crews with operational requirements.
