Job summary

Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) is recruiting a Firefighter (Control) based at West Hartford HQ in Cramlington. The role supports emergency response by answering calls, mobilising resources and guiding the public under pressure.

Working 42 hours a week on a rotating shift including nights, weekends and public holidays, the post offers a challenging, team-based environment and opportunities to develop core firefighting and command skills.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to communicate clearly with the public under stress.
• Experience working effectively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Answer, record and action emergency calls.
• Mobilise resources to incidents across the County.
• Provide support and guidance to members of the public.
• Assist in the ongoing management of incidents.
• Carry out a variety of emergency and non-emergency tasks to support and maintain an effective Fire Service response.
• Operate under pressure in a fast-changing environment.
