Job summary

Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clerical Officer to join the Emergency Department reception and clerical team. You will support patients, families and medical staff, ensuring smooth operations in critical moments with a caring, professional approach.

The role offers flexibly across a 24/7 rota for part time or full time hours, with a pro rata salary of £25,760 to £27,476 per year. Applicants should have GCSEs, experience in general office duties, and be able to stay calm

Qualifications

GCSE Maths and English required.
Experience in general office duties.
Public-facing experience in a workplace.
Clerical work in a healthcare setting preferred.
Able to stay calm and professional under pressure.
Enthusiastic, compassionate, and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

Provide a welcoming reception service for patients, ambulance staff and visitors.
Support resus situations by taking essential patient details.
Register patients and ensure accurate data entry in Careflow PAS.
Direct patients to appropriate areas with excellent customer service.
Maintain confidentiality and uphold professionalism in challenging situations.
Schedule follow-up appointments.
