Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Clerical Officer for the Emergency Department. You will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, handling data entry and ensuring smooth patient pathways.

You will work a full shift pattern including long days, earlies, twilights, lates, nights, weekends and bank holidays, and you must have previous administration experience and IT literacy to use the department systems and protect patient information.

• Good standard of literacy and clear written communication

Responsibilities

• Book in all patients on arrival to support timely handovers
• Maintain reception and waiting areas, escalate issues as needed
• Ensure accurate entry of patient data into the department systems
• Support transfer and discharge coordination with wards and departments
