Job summary

Camden Council is seeking a Temporary Accommodation Supply Officer to assist the TA Supply Manager in ensuring a steady supply of suitable, safe temporary accommodation for homeless households. You will build strong relationships with providers and internal teams to help meet statutory housing duties.

You will negotiate with landlords, inspect properties for safety, monitor provider performance and contracts, and analyse data to support commissioning decisions. Some home working may be available.

Qualifications

• Educated to GCSE A Level, NVQ Level or equivalent housing experience.
• Understanding of Housing Act 1996 Parts VI & VII and housing allocations.
• Passionate about housing equality and accessible services.
• Proactive in addressing problems and enabling timely action.

Responsibilities

• Procure suitable emergency accommodation across the private sector to meet statutory duties.
• Expand and diversify the TA supplier list and negotiate best prices.
• Inspect properties daily for suitability and safety, update inventories.
• Ensure health and safety compliance across properties and systems.
• Monitor provider performance and enforce SLAs and contracts.
• Liaise with landlords and providers to resolve issues and hand back properties when needed.
• Support managers with contract and performance analysis.
• Collect and analyse demand, supply, and financial data to inform commissioning decisions.
• Carry out other duties consistent with the role as required.
