Job summary

Iron Mountain is seeking a strategic Design Manager to join our EMEA Design and Construction team.

You’ll lead the end-to-end design delivery for data centre construction projects across markets like London, Amsterdam, Madrid, and Frankfurt, collaborating with multidisciplinary experts and external consultants to ensure our infrastructure meets engineering standards and supports our expanding digital footprint.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in design delivery of mission-critical facilities.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, life safety, and control systems.
• Experience directing multidisciplinary design teams and managing vendors.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead third-party design consultants to deliver data centre facilities.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration with internal construction, finance, sales, and operations teams to execute fit-out programs and validate opportunities.
• Provide engineering oversight: Direct budget, schedule, and product delivery to keep projects compliant with regulations.
• Manage project risks: Identify engineering risks and opportunities early to protect timelines and standards.
