Job summary

Electronics Repair Engineer role in Solihull, West Midlands offering £35,000 basic salary plus bonus. Onsite laboratory with flexible start and finish times.

The role covers diagnostics, repair and testing of electronic equipment to customer specs and standards. You will diagnose, test and repair electronics, perform SMT and through-hole soldering, reverse engineer boards, and develop test procedures while supporting new products in the workshop.

Qualifications

• Substantial practical experience in electronic repair and fault diagnosis.
• Ability to work independently and diagnose faults methodically.
• Proficient in SMT and through-hole soldering on PCB assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Carry out component-level fault finding, PCB repairs and equipment testing.
• Use SMT and through-hole soldering to repair electronic assemblies.
• Reverse engineer circuit boards to understand design and functionality.
• Screen equipment, record repair histories and test results.
• Complete hardware and software upgrades to required revision.
• Develop and document test procedures and repair processes.
• Support introduction of new products into the workshop.
• Share knowledge and help develop other engineers.
• Meet customer deadlines while maintaining quality and safety standards.
