Japanese manufacturing company is seeking an Electronics Hardware Engineer.

Position: Electronics Hardware Engineer

Location: Cambridge (on-site)

Type: Permanent

Salary: up to 45K

Key Responsibilities:

• Be a vital part of our electronics design team.
• Maintain a large portfolio of products in production.
• Update documentation to reflect changes and improvements.
• Design electronic systems from concept to production.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers and technicians to design and solve complex problems.
• Guide products through the NPI (New Product Introduction) process.
• Perform fault finding and root cause analysis.
• Conduct EMC and safety testing.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Design and understanding of DC-DC converters and various topologies.
• Experience with design tools like Altium or equivalent for PCB design suitable for mass production.
• Proficiency with simulation tools like LTspice.
• Experience in automated test design and implementation.
• Strong knowledge of electronics fundamentals.
• Excellent soldering skills and understanding of PCB manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of compliance standards (EMC, safety, RoHS, REACH, WEEE).
• Mechanical knowledge is a plus.
• Experience in microcontroller and embedded system design.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills across multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in embedded C or other embedded software languages.
• Experience in achieving full product compliance (CE/FCC).
• FMEA experience.
• Knowledge of thermal management in electronics design.
