Placement Hardware Design Engineer

Position Overview

Sensata Technologies is seeking a Placement Hardware Design Engineer to join our growing team, focusing on the Heavy Vehicle Off-Road (HVOR) business. The role involves developing and testing electronic solutions for sensor-rich applications that support a cleaner, more efficient, electrified, and connected world. Our clients include leading OEMs and renowned brands across commercial vehicles, agriculture, and construction machinery markets.

Responsibilities

1. Design and develop equipment, processes, and systems, including data networks, communications, and display interfaces.
2. Collaborate with research engineers, scientists, and customer representatives to resolve design issues.
3. Maintain technical procedures, documentation, and manuals.
4. Support technicians and technologists with technical assistance.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a university degree program (Bachelor's level).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
• High ethical standards and personal integrity.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills across organizational levels.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Degree in Electronics or Software with 0-2 years of experience.
• Background in automotive or high-tech development environments, preferably with electric vehicles.
• Experience in commercial vehicles, off-road machinery, or automotive markets.
• Knowledge of Cyber Security and Functional Safety standards for automotive.
• Skills in C programming for automation and testing.
• Familiarity with LabVIEW, CAN communication, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and Arbs.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for equipment installation and support.
