Job summary

ABB is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee local unit operations, including field service management, project management, manufacturing, maintenance, logistics, and planning. You will develop action plans aligned with division strategy and ensure health, safety, and integrity standards.

This hybrid role requires a degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, 5+ years in service operations management, leadership skills, and a full UK driving licence; fluency in English is

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
• Proven (5+ yrs.) experience in service operations management.
• Previous experience with switchgear, UPS systems, power electronics or similar electrical systems preferred.
• Strong leadership and people skills with experience in building and developing teams.
• Customer-centric mindset with strong commercial understanding.
• Experience in operational excellence, quality management, and process improvement.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.
• Full UK Driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Work model: Hybrid.
• Monitoring plan implementation and tracking any deviations for corrective action.
• Preparing annual budget, overseeing progress, and determining measures to address cost-related issues as necessary, to manage operations within the allocated budget and resources.
• Developing programs, projects, goals, and metrics to lead the organization to the highest level of operational performance while optimizing working capital throughout Operations.
• Ensuring that the organization takes into account an overall value-chain perspective to meet customer expectations as per agreed quality, service levels, and lead time.
