Job summary

ABB is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee local unit operations, including field service management, project management, manufacturing, maintenance, logistics, and planning. You will develop action plans aligned with division strategy and ensure health, safety, and integrity standards.

This hybrid role requires a degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, 5+ years in service operations management, leadership skills, and a full UK driving licence; fluency in English is

• Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
• Proven (5+ yrs.) experience in service operations management.
• Previous experience with switchgear, UPS systems, power electronics or similar electrical systems preferred.
• Strong leadership and people skills with experience in building and developing teams.
• Customer-centric mindset with strong commercial understanding.
• Experience in operational excellence, quality management, and process improvement.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.
• Full UK Driving licence.

• Preparing annual budget, overseeing progress, and determining measures to address cost-related issues as necessary, to manage operations within the allocated budget and resources.

• Ensuring that the organization takes into account an overall value-chain perspective to meet customer expectations as per agreed quality, service levels, and lead time.

Job Summary

This position reports to: Local Division Manager. In this role, you will have the opportunity to oversee the operational aspects of local units, encompassing the full scope of Operations, including field service management, project management and control, project engineering, manufacturing, production engineering, maintenance, procurement, quality, continuous improvement, logistics, and planning and fulfilment, or a part of that. Each day, you will be responsible for developing business action plans for the units, aligned with business area/division/product group strategy and targets. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring strict adherence within operation with respect to policies and required health, safety, and integrity standards.
