Job summary

Bromford is seeking a skilled Electrician to perform maintenance, repairs and installations across domestic and commercial properties. The role includes on-call duties with a weekly on-call rate, a company van with tools, and ample support to complete tasks safely and efficiently.

Key requirements include 18th Edition wiring regs, City & Guilds Electrical Test and Inspection Certificate, and NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. A full, clean driving licence and DBS check are also expected.

Qualifications

• Must have 18th Edition wiring regs knowledge and up-to-date compliance understanding.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent electrical qualification is required.
• City & Guilds Electrical Test and Inspection Certificate is essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), repairs, and installations across domestic and commercial properties.
• Maintain and fault-find electrical and mechanical systems including boilers, pumps, lighting, hot water, and HVAC.
• Complete rewiring, testing, and inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
• Diagnose issues quickly and deliver high-quality, efficient repairs.
• Manage materials, record work accurately, and work safely in line with regulations.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), repairs, and installations across domestic and commercial properties
• Maintaining and fault-finding on electrical and mechanical systems, including boiler controls, pumps, communal lighting, hot water systems, and HVAC units
• Completing rewiring, testing, and inspections to ensure systems are safe and compliant
• Diagnosing issues quickly and delivering high-quality, efficient repairs
• Managing materials, recording work accurately, and working safely in line with regulations
• Providing excellent customer service and ensuring homes are safe and fit for purpose

What We’re Looking For

• Experience with 18th Edition wiring regulations or equivalent time served
• City & Guilds Electrical Test and Inspection Certificate
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent electrical qualification
• AM2 qualification preferred but not essential
• Thorough knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices
• Proficiency with IT systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Commitment to Bromford’s values and acting as a positive ambassador for the organisation
• Full, clean driving licence
• Proactive, flexible attitude to work and travel
• A Basic DBS Check (arranged by BFL)
