Job summary

Lancer Scott is seeking a Multi Skilled Electrician or Electrical Improver to manage our electrical work, from complex repairs to routine maintenance, covering Bournemouth and surrounding areas.

You will be responsible for planning and completing a range of works, installing and testing electrical systems, and ensuring compliance with regulations and high standards.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience in building maintenance (planned, reactive and remedial).
  • C&G 2382 18th Edition is helpful or working towards.
  • Current Full UK Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out pre-planned maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.
  • Complete reactive and remedial repairs following testing and inspections.
  • Plan and complete works including installation and testing of electrical systems.
  • Source parts, materials and seek manufacturer technical support.
  • Provide detailed write-ups of works for client updates.
  • Work to agreed timescales and comply with regulations.
  • Record procedures, maintenance logs and risk controls.
  • Use PDAs or electronic devices to complete works.
  • Liaise with control hub for efficient responses.
  • Observe health and safety and perform risk assessments.
  • Provide out-of-hours cover on a rota (1 in 6).

What will my core responsibilities be?

As a Multi Skilled Electrician or Electrical Improver you will manage our full range of electrical work from complex repairs to the resolution of minor issues, alongside our test and inspect maintenance. You will be covering Bournemouth and surrounding areas.

  • Responsible for the completion of pre-planned maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.
  • Completion of reactive and remedial repairs associated with the electrical systems following testing and inspections as directed by the Helpdesk.
  • Play a key role in planning and completing a range of works associated with the electrical systems, which will also include installation and testing of these systems.
  • Use initiative to solve complicated technical problems associated with reactive maintenance activities, including sourcing parts & materials and seeking manufacturer technical support.
  • Provide detailed write-ups of works carried out to ensure our client is kept up to date at all times.
  • Carry out all works within agreed timescales and to the highest standards, ensuring that you comply with current regulations and contract specifications.
  • Report and record procedures, including operation and maintenance logs and control measures to minimise risks.
  • Utilise PDAs or electronic devices to complete works.
  • Liaise closely with our control hub to ensure efficient response to all works either working on your own or as part of a team.
  • Observe the highest levels of health and safety at all times, including carrying out point of work risk assessments for every task to ensure the best possible working practices are adhered to.
  • Provide regular out-of-hours cover on a rota system, typically 1 in 6.
What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?
  • Hold a minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a building maintenance role, particularly in relation to planned, reactive and remedial maintenance
  • C&G 2382 18th Edition is helpful or working towards
  • Current Full UK Driver’s License
