Proactive Global in Kettering is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician with PLC skills and a drive to develop into a controls engineer. The role is Monday to Friday days, offering £60,000 - £63,000 plus bonus and a good pension, at a well-established manufacturing site.

You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose electrical and control faults, work with PLC systems, and extend your automation knowledge through hands-on training and projects.

We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join a well-established manufacturing site in Kettering.

This is a Monday to Friday, days-based position offering £60,000 - £63,000, plus bonus and a good pension.

The Role

As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Working with PLC and controls systems to identify and resolve faults.

• Working with sensors, inverters, motors, drives and control systems.
• Responding quickly to breakdowns and minimising production downtime.
• Supporting continuous improvement and reliability projects.
• Working closely with the engineering and production teams.
• Ensuring all maintenance work is completed safely and to a high standard.

Training and Development

This is a role where you can genuinely continue to develop as a technician.

If you have a strong electrical maintenance background and some existing PLC and controls experience, the company will provide the opportunity to learn considerably more in these areas through training and practical experience.

You will be exposed to more advanced controls and automation systems, allowing you to expand your existing skill set and become a more technically capable Electrical Maintenance Technician.

The Person

The ideal Electrical Maintenance Technician will have:

• Strong electrical maintenance experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Good electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Some experience with PLC and controls.
• A genuine interest in developing further knowledge around PLC, controls and automation.
• A good understanding of industrial electrical systems.
• Experience with motors, drives, sensors, inverters and control panels.
• A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
• Relevant electrical engineering qualifications or equivalent experience.
