Job summary

Proactive Global in Kettering is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician with PLC skills and a drive to develop into a controls engineer. The role is Monday to Friday days, offering £60,000 - £63,000 plus bonus and a good pension, at a well-established manufacturing site.

You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose electrical and control faults, work with PLC systems, and extend your automation knowledge through hands-on training and projects.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical maintenance experience within manufacturing.
• Some experience with PLC and controls.
• Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
• Electrical fault finding across manufacturing machinery.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical and control system faults.
• Work with PLC and controls systems to identify and resolve faults.
• Develop knowledge of PLC, controls and automation through training.
• Support improvements to machinery, equipment and production processes.
• Work with sensors, inverters, motors, drives and control systems.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns and minimise downtime.
• Support continuous improvement projects.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams.
• Ensure all maintenance work is safe and high quality.
