Job summary

Proactive Global is recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Engineer for our site in Kettering, Northamptonshire. The role focuses on planned and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, with specific PLC and controls responsibilities and ample opportunity to develop PLC skills through training.

Working Monday to Friday, days, you will earn £60,000 - £63,000 plus bonus and a good pension, with clear progression into more advanced PLC and controls work as you gain experience.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical maintenance experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Good electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Some experience with PLC and controls.
• A genuine interest in developing further knowledge around PLC, controls and automation.
• A good understanding of industrial electrical systems.
• Experience with motors, drives, sensors, inverters and control panels.
• A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
• Relevant electrical engineering qualifications or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
• Electrical fault finding across a range of manufacturing and production machinery.
• Diagnosing and rectifying electrical and control system faults.
• Working with PLC and controls systems to identify and resolve faults.
• Developing knowledge of PLC, controls and automation through training.
• Supporting improvements to machinery, equipment and production processes.
• Working with sensors, inverters, motors, drives and control systems.
• Responding quickly to breakdowns and minimising production downtime.
• Supporting continuous improvement and reliability projects.
• Working closely with engineering and production teams.
• Ensuring all maintenance work is completed safely and to a high standard.
