Job summary

CBRE is seeking an Electrical Technician to support maintenance of building engineering systems across multiple sites in Ipswich. You will perform reactive and planned maintenance, fault finding, and repairs to LV electrical networks in line with safety procedures and regulations.

The role involves conducting risk assessments, assisting with projects, and ensuring equipment and test gear are calibrated and compliant.

Qualifications

Apprenticeship or equivalent with practical electrical maintenance experience.
Must hold City and Guilds Level 3 technical certificate in electrical discipline.
Must hold City and Guilds 2382 Level 3 BS 7671 or equivalent (or obtainable within 3 months).
Hold a Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrical Installation or Maintenance.
AM2 and JIB skills card are required.
City and Guilds Level 3 certificates in inspection/testing of electrical installations.
Formal training in UPS systems and Generators.
PASMA / IPAF certification.
Confined space / Roof working experience.
AP experience or willingness to gain it at contract start.

Responsibilities

Maintain LV electrical distribution, power/lighting systems and perform PPM tasks.
Carry out fault finding and repair on electrical installations as directed.
Ensure compliance with BS7671 wiring regulations and safety practices.
Assist in project hand-over and snagging of new installations.
Complete risk assessments for reactive/planned maintenance tasks.
Produce reports for facilities management and maintain stock levels.
