The role: Electrical Engineer

The purpose of the Electrical Engineer is to support the Area Operations Manager (AOM) and Technical Supervisor by providing reactive and planned preventative maintenance for building engineering systems and services.

Perform maintenance, fault finding, and repair of low voltage (LV) electrical systems as directed and log status on the CMMS.

Key Responsibilities Are As Follows
  • Maintain low voltage (LV) electrical systems and perform PPM routines.
  • Repair and maintain electrical equipment and fixtures.
  • Deliver small projects and assist with project handovers.
  • Ensure compliance with BS7671 wiring regulations.
  • Diagnose and repair faults.
  • Calibrate risk assessments for maintenance tasks.
  • Liaise with helpdesk for task responses.
  • Maintain site logbooks, compliance certification, and produce reports.
  • Participate in emergency call-out services and support cost reduction efforts.
  • Support team with any other needs as requested by Technical Supervisor and/or AOM.
Person Specification
  • Perform skilled work requiring technical training (NVQ level 3 or equivalent).
  • Willing to undertake CBRE refresher training in emergency circuit breaker and fuse theory, emergency lighting testing, water heater testing, and fire alarm testing, including safe isolation procedures.
Essential Qualifications
  • Must have completed an apprenticeship or equivalent formal training in electrical installation and maintenance, including sufficient practical experience to be assessed as electrically competent.
  • Must hold a City and Guilds Level 3 technical certificate or equivalent in an electrical discipline.
  • Must hold a City and Guilds Level 3 certificate in the requirements for electrical installations BS 7671 (18th Edition). In exceptional cases, an applicant without this qualification may still be considered if obtained within 3 months of appointment.
