Electrical Site Technician – Staffordshire/Site Based – Competitive Salary

VIQU has partnered with a leading organisation in the energy industry, seeking a site technician to join their growing team. The role is vital in delivering high-quality electrical protection and control systems for critical projects.

Key Responsibilities of the Site Technician:

1. Assemble and wire electrical protection and control systems using technical drawings, parts lists, and specifications. This includes:

• Cable installation, glanding, and termination of paired, multicore, copper, and fiber optic cables.
• Mechanical assembly, including cubicles, frameworks, and cable tray/ladders.

Maintain high-quality standards by checking work, completing inspection test plans (ITPs), and addressing rework as required.

Update issue logs and collaborate with site supervisors, designers, or commissioning engineers to resolve issues.

Conduct equipment builds and configuration inspections, including electrical safety checks, continuity tests, point-to-point wiring checks, high voltage withstand tests, insulation resistance tests, power-up, and equipment functionality checks.

Complete isolations as needed.

Experience Needed:

• Strong hands-on experience in electrical assembly, E, C & I installation, and panel wiring (Substation Control Systems, Protection systems). Must have worked on customer sites.
• Ideally, experience with mechanical assembly.
• Familiarity with technical drawings, schematics, and parts lists.
• Full UK driving license and willingness to work on customer sites.
