Electrical Site Technician – Staffordshire/Site Based – Competitive Salary

VIQU has partnered with a leading organisation in the energy industry seeking a site technician to join their growing team. The role involves delivering high-quality electrical protection and control systems for critical projects.

Key Responsibilities of the Site Technician:

1. Assemble and wire electrical protection and control systems using technical drawings, parts lists, and specifications, including:
2. Cable installation, glanding, and termination of paired, multicore, copper, and fiber optic cables.
3. Mechanical assembly such as cubicles, frameworks, and cable tray/ladders.
4. Maintain high-quality standards by inspecting work, completing inspection test plans (ITPs), and addressing rework as needed.
5. Update issue logs and collaborate with site supervisors, designers, or commissioning engineers to resolve issues.
6. Conduct equipment builds and configuration inspections, including electrical safety checks, continuity tests, wiring checks, high voltage withstand tests, insulation resistance tests, power-up, and functionality checks, as well as isolations.

Experience Needed for the Site Technician:

• Hands-on experience in electrical assembly, E, C & I installation, and panel wiring, particularly in Substation Control and Protection systems on customer sites.
• Mechanical assembly experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with technical drawings, schematics, and parts lists.
• Full UK driving license and willingness to work on customer sites.
