Qualifications

  • SMSTS certification required.

  • Experience managing electrical subcontractors on live construction sites.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site inspections and quality checks.
  • Manage direct operatives and daily site activities.
  • Attend site meetings and provide progress updates.
  • Manage material deliveries, storage, and allocation.
  • Oversee and coordinate electrical subcontractors on site.
  • Monitor installation quality and implement QA procedures.
  • Liaise with project managers, consultants, and other trades.
  • Review RAMS and ensure safe systems of work are followed.
  • Maintain accurate site records and reports.

Renowned for their technical expertise and commitment to quality, they have established a strong reputation for successfully delivering large-scale projects for some of the country's most recognised developers and main contractors.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Site Manager to support the delivery of a major student accommodation development in Manchester. This is a long-term freelance opportunity offering 12 months plus of work on a high-profile residential scheme.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for overseeing electrical subcontractors and direct operatives, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with the wider project team, you will coordinate site activities, manage materials, oversee quality assurance processes, and ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements.

Relevant Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Strong track record managing electrical subcontractors and direct labour on live construction projects
  • Proven industry expertise with a track record of overseeing electrical packages on major residential developments
