Job summary

BJF Group is a leading UK contractor delivering high-quality electrical installations across the South West and beyond. We seek an Electrical Qualifying Supervisor to manage electricians and apprentices on FM projects, ensuring compliance with NICEIC enrolment and safety standards.

The role is mobile across sites in the South West, typically 2–5 days per project, with travel between sites until completion. A UK driving licence and relevant NVQ/CompEx/IET qualifications are essential.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation (2357) is required.
• AM2 certification is required.
• Testing & Inspection (2391) certification is required.
• 18th Edition/ IET Wiring Regulations (7671) qualification required.
• Full UK Driving Licence is required.
• CompEx 01-04 certification required.
• JIB Gold Card is required.
• IPAF certification preferred.
• PASMA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technically sound knowledge, support and guidance to colleagues and clients
• Provide advice, support and guidance relating to electrical installations during day-to-day activities and out of hours service
• Liaising, and relationship building with your teams, clients and consultants on a daily basis
• Plan and schedule projects
• Estimate the time and materials needed to complete projects
• Maintain records and documentation relating to the ongoing completion of projects
• Supervise electricians and apprentices as they work, providing guidance and instructions as needed
• Ensure all work complies with safety and building regulation standards
• Perform electrical tasks as required
• Visit sites before works start and scope what is required, organise materials
• Organise permit to works, ensure Rams are signed before works commence, oversee Sub contractors and ensure they abide by BJF standards
• Complete electrical site safety audits and prepare reports
• Understand responsibility for health, safety and wellbeing of your team and the wider group, promoting a positive health and safety culture

Job description

BJF Group is a leading multidiscipline Main Contractor based across the UK, specialising in delivering high quality construction projects across various sectors priding ourselves of our reputation for excellence and attention to detail.

Within our Facilities Management division, the Southwest Projects team plays a crucial role in the scoping, planning and delivery of a diverse range of projects additional to the main contract, ranging from small improvement through to room/building refurbishments and completely new installations.

Position

The Electrical Qualifying Supervisor's role is a crucial role in the day to day running of the business and involves the management of electricians and apprentices under your control so that all requirements of the electrical FM Projects department are achieved and maintained in line with the company policies and rules of enrolment with the NICEIIC.

This is a mobile role that will require you to be split across multiple sites across the South West of the UK, each project will typically last 2-5 days at a particular site and you will commute to the same site until the project is fully delivered, so you will not be expected to travel across multiple sites in one day etc...
