Job summary

BJF Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Qualifying Supervisor to lead a mobile team across the South West, ensuring electrical FM projects meet safety and regulatory standards. You will manage electricians and apprentices, plan and schedule works, and supervise site activities on multi-site projects.

Based in Dorset and surrounding sites, the role requires hands-on leadership, strong technical knowledge of electrical installations, and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation is required.
• AM2 certification is essential.
• 2391Testing & Inspection is required.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations training completed.
• Full UK Driving Licence is required.
• CompEx 01-04 certification is required.
• JIB Gold Card is preferred.
• IPAF and PASMA certifications are required.

Responsibilities

Within our Facilities Management division, the Southwest Projects team plays a crucial role in the scoping, planning and delivery of a diverse range of projects additional to the main contract, ranging from small improvement through to room/building refurbishments and completely new installations.

Position

The Electrical Qualifying Supervisor's role is a crucial role in the day to day running of the business and involves the management of electricians and apprentices under your control so that all requirements of the electrical FM Projects department are achieved and maintained in line with the company policies and rules of enrolment with the NICEIIC.

This is a mobile role that will require you to be split across multiple sites across the South West of the UK, each project will typically last 2-5 days at a particular site and you will commute to the same site until the project is fully delivered, so you will not be expected to travel across multiple sites in one day etc...

• Provide technically sound knowledge, support and guidance to colleagues and clients
• To provide advice, support and guidance relating to electrical installations during day-to-day activities and out of hours service.
• Liaising, and relationship building with your teams, clients and consultants on an on-going daily basis.
• Plan and schedule projects
• Estimate the time and materials needed to complete projects
• Maintain records and documentation relating to the ongoing completion of projects
• Supervise electricians and apprentices as they work, providing guidance and instructions as needed
• Ensure all work complies with all safety and building regulation standards
• Perform electrical tasks as required
• Visit sites before works start and scope what is required, organise materials
• Organise permit to works, ensure Rams are signed before works commence, oversee any Sub contractors and ensure they abide by the BJF standards
• Complete electrical site safety audits and prepare reports
• Understand your responsibility for the health, safety and wellbeing of your team and the wider group, whilst promoting a positive health and safety culture throughout.
