Job summary

Galliford Try is seeking an organised MCC Proposals Engineer to support the preparation, delivery and negotiation of tenders for Motor Control Centres and control panels, in Coventry or Norwich. You will liaise with engineering, design and sales teams, review client enquiries, and help maintain tendering databases while pursuing profitable orders.

Qualifications

• HNC in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong IT competency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Background in tendering, proposals, estimating or commercial administration in engineering/manufacturing.
• Excellent attention to detail and written accuracy.
• Strong communication and client-facing confidence.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue tenders for MCCs and control panels, ensuring alignment with customer specifications and margin expectations.
• Review client enquiries and electrical specifications with internal teams for accurate technical solutions.
• Liaise with engineering, design and sales teams throughout the tender process and support smooth handovers.
• Attend client site visits and tender review meetings to discuss proposals with clients.
• Support tendering administration and maintain sales and tendering databases.
• Help maintain consistent order intake in line with business targets.
• Produce high-quality tender documents and ensure deadlines and cash-flow expectations are met.
• Engage with client post-submission to support negotiations and secure profitable orders.
• Build strong relationships across the business and gather feedback to improve future tenders.
