Job summary

Galliford Try is seeking a Project Engineer – Control Systems & Electrical Design in Plymouth. You will manage multiple projects through tendering, design, manufacture, testing and handover, coordinating with customers and internal teams to deliver compliant, cost‑effective electrical solutions.

You’ll produce MCC and LV electrical designs, specify equipment, support FAT/SAT, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining safety and quality across projects.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering background with project delivery experience.
• Experience in MCC, control panel and LV electrical system design.
• Ability to produce schematics, general arrangement drawings and BOMs.
• Familiarity with PLC, HMI and SCADA integration.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical or similar CAD software.
• Strong collaboration with customers, suppliers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects from order to completion within programme and budget.
• Review specifications and develop engineering solutions for electrical systems.
• Produce electrical designs for MCCs, control panels and LV distribution.
• Spec and select electrical equipment and instrumentation.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning activities and site surveys.
• Coordinate suppliers, subcontractors and project teams throughout delivery.
