Job summary

Galliford Try is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to join our Environment team in Normanton. You will support the Yorkshire Water AMP 8 programme, delivering water M&E schemes across multiple sites, reporting to the Project Manager and coordinating with the design, procurement, and site teams.

You will guide engineering from inception through to completion, manage risk, procurement, and testing, and contribute to budget control.

Qualifications

• An industry applicable electrical ONC/HNC/B.Eng or NVQ equivalent.
• Proven experience within the Water Industry.
• ATEX experience desirable but not essential.
• Commercial and contractual awareness.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Project.
• Desire to understand and promote the Company purpose, vision, values and culture.
• Trustworthy and ethical approach, exercising discretion where required.
• Organised, structured and professional, with a passion for excellence.
• Flexibility, resilience and the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
• Excellent communication skills (email/phone/face to face).

Responsibilities

• Outline engineering from inception to completion of schemes using in-house resources, site installation and construction personnel.
• Delivery of water M&E projects (pumping stations, dosing systems, chlorination plants & associated civil structures).
• Early site investigation works in coordination with client, design and project team.
• Production and review of health and safety documentation (risk assessments & method statements).
• Procurement of materials and subcontractor management.
• Attend/facilitate factory, site and works testing, commissioning, and client training.
• Input into internal and client design reviews and hazard studies.
• Collaborate with design team to gather information and develop best solution.
• Manage cost to complete / budget reviews with project delivery teams.
• Develop Inspection and Test Plans and ensure progress is tracked.
• Support Be Well and Agile Working initiatives as applicable.
