Galliford Try Group in Normanton, West Yorkshire, seeks a Mechanical Project Engineer to deliver clean and wastewater projects on the AMP 8 Yorkshire Water framework. You will report to the project manager and work with the delivery team to align design, procurement, financial control and site activities.

The role requires electrical qualifications and water industry experience, with a focus on safe, compliant and efficient project delivery while coordinating with design teams and suppliers.

• Electrical ONC/HNC/BEng or NVQ equivalent.
• Proven experience within the water industry; experience with chemical dosing preferred.
• Proven negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders; able to influence at all levels.

Responsabilidades

• Outline engineering from inception to completion of schemes using in-house resources and site teams.
• Delivery of water M&E projects (pumping stations, dosing systems, chlorination plants).
• Coordinate early site investigations with client, design and project team.
• Prepare and review health and safety documentation (risk assessments, method statements, project plans).
• Procurement of materials and subcontractor orders; manage budgets and programmes.
• Attend factory, site and commissioning activities and client training.

Mechanical Project Engineer - Environment

Location – Normanton

Galliford Try has an opportunity for a Mechanical Project Engineer at our Normanton office in West Yorkshire. You will be working with an enthusiastic team and experienced team, assisting with the delivery of high value construction projects across clean and waste water on the AMP 8 Yorkshire Water framework.

What you will be doing:

Reporting to the project manager, you will work alongside the project delivery team to ensure the design, procurement, financial control and site activities are achieved.

• Outline engineering from inception to completion of schemes utilising in-house resources, site installation and construction personnel.
• Delivery of water M&E projects e.g., Pumping Stations, Dosing Systems, Chlorination plants & associated civil structures etc.
• Early site investigation works in coordination with the client, design and project team
• Production and review of health and safety documentation (risk assessments & method statements / Project management plans).
• Procurement of materials
• Attend/undertake factory, site and works testing, commissioning, and client training
• Attendance and input into internal and client design reviews
• Working closely with the design team to gather all required information, participate in regular design reviews and Hazard Studies to develop the best solution
• Involvement with cost to complete / budget reviews with the project delivery teams
• Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors
• Involvement with preparation of subcontract orders
• Assistance with the evaluation and submission of claims for variation works
• Liaison with site manager and site teams to ensure work is completed to programme, budget, and quality
• Developing Inspection and Test Plans and ensuring they are completed as the scheme progresses
• Innovation whilst maintaining compliance to current standards
• Preparation & management of project programmes
• Proactive approach to maintaining high standards of Health & Safety performance
• To work with the team to develop and close out all contract documentation such as, “As built” drawings, Commissioning Manuals and Operation and Maintenance Manuals

About you:

• Have an industry applicable electrical ONC/HNC/B Eng or NVQ equivalent.
• Proven experience within the water industry necessary, desirable to have experience in chemical dosing.
• Proven negotiation skills to both internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
• Excellent communication skills, face to face and in an online capacity.
• Desire to understand and promote the Company purpose, vision, values and culture.
