Job summary

Kier Group is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to support the Thames Water Major Projects team on site in Wisley, Surrey. You will help deliver LV electrical engineering for major water infrastructure, focusing on MCC/RTU delivery and safe contractor management.

Key activities include reviewing electrical docs, coordinating commissioning with Thames Water, and participating in factory acceptance tests to ensure designs meet requirements.

Qualifications

• HNC qualification in Electrical/Electronic or Instrumentation engineering or similar.
• Experience in low voltage electrical installations on large-scale water treatment works.
• Knowledge of MCC/RTU, and communications protocols such as Profibus, DeviceNet and Ethernet/IP.
• Safety conscious with experience of setting people to work safely and contractor management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multi-discipline team.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing electrical documentation including block cable diagrams, load schedules, and MCC/RTU schematics for asset standards compliance.
• Represent Kier at client meetings and liaise with Thames Water Operations to coordinate electrical commissioning on live plants.
• Conduct fault finding and system configuration for MCCs and local control panels.
• Attend Factory Acceptance Tests to ensure MCC/RTU builds meet design criteria and process requirements.
• Support MCC manufacturers to ensure Thames Water standards and conduct technical reviews of risk assessments and method statements.

We're looking for an Electrical Project Engineer to join our Thames Water Major Projects team based on site in Wisley, Surrey.

Location: Wisley, Surrey
Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We're seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to provide LV electrical engineering expertise for industrial projects with particular emphasis on the water industry. Working within our Thames Water Major Projects team, you'll be supporting the delivery of design and build services for new and existing infrastructure assets across the Thames Water supply and treatment regions. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is quality-focused and has a demonstrable history of managing Low Voltage Electrical works and Motor Control Centre delivery within major projects.

What will you be responsible for?

As an Electrical Project Engineer, you'll be working within the Thames Water Major Projects team, supporting them in delivering electrical engineering excellence across major water infrastructure projects. Your day to day will include:

• Reviewing and commenting on electrical documentation including block cable diagrams, load schedules, and MCC/RTU electrical schematics to ensure compliance with asset standards
• Representing Kier at client meetings and liaising with Thames Water Operations team to coordinate electrical commissioning activities on live process plants
• Conducting fault finding and system configuration for electrical equipment including Motor Control Centres and local control panels
• Attending Factory Acceptance Tests to ensure MCC/RTU builds meet all design criteria and operate in accordance with process requirements
• Supporting MCC manufacturers to ensure designs comply with Thames Water Standards and conducting technical reviews of Electrical Risk Assessments and Method Statements

What are we looking for?

This role of Electrical Project Engineer is great for you if:

• You have an HNC qualification in Electrical/Electronic or Instrumentation engineering or similar discipline
• You have experience in low voltage electrical installations on large-scale water treatment works
• You have a working knowledge of large motor control centres and demonstrate a good understanding of communications protocols such as Profibus, DeviceNet and Ethernet IP
• You're safety conscious with experience of setting people to work safely and have strong contractor management skills
• You have excellent interpersonal skills, are versatile and reliable, and can work effectively as part of a multi-discipline team
