Job summary

Kier is seeking a Working Electrical Supervisor for the Wastewater Asset Assurance Programme in Thames Valley. The role is site-based at Little Marlow and Forest Hill, Buckinghamshire, with 45 hours weekly and some flexibility.

You will supervise electricians and perform hands-on electrical installation work on Thames Water sites, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery across the region.

Qualifications

  • Full driving licence and JIB Gold Card or ECS card required.
  • Experience in the Water Industry with sound judgement and problem solving.
  • Electrical qualifications: C&G 2330/2360, NVQ3, C&G2391, and IEE 18th edition.
  • SMSTS and Confined Spaces qualifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install LV electrical systems for temporary and permanent works, including containment and cabling.
  • Supervise electricians and mentor apprentices to meet standards.
  • Issue safe isolations and manage Permit to Work and Isolation Certificates.
  • Produce RAMS and review ITPs; carry out electrical audits per ESRs.
  • Support commissioning documentation and coordinate with supply chain to fault find.

Job Description

We're looking for a Working Electrical Supervisor to join our Wastewater Asset Assurance Programme team based in Thames Valley. Location: Thames Valley - Site Based - Little Marlow and Forest Hill, Buckinghamshire.
Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us. We're seeking a Working Electrical Supervisor to join our team working on Thames Water sites across the region. You'll play a vital role in our developing self-delivery team, carrying out hands‑on electrical installation work whilst supervising and supporting fellow electricians. This is an opportunity to form a cornerstone of our MEICA delivery team, working on capital frameworks across Thames Water supply and treatment regions, providing design and build services for new and existing infrastructure.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Working Electrical Supervisor, you'll be working within the Wastewater Asset Assurance Programme team, supporting them in delivering electrical installation and supervision services.

  • Installing low-voltage electrical systems for both temporary and permanent works, including containment systems, power and control cables, and testing installations
  • Supervising electricians and providing mentorship to apprentices, ensuring all works meet appropriate standards
  • Providing safe isolations of LV electrical systems and issuing electrical safety documents including Permit to Work and Isolation Certificates
  • Producing and reviewing electrical RAMS and project ITPs, carrying out electrical audits in line with Kier's ESRs
  • Supporting the development of commissioning documentation and working with the supply chain to fault find where required
What are we looking for?

This role of Working Electrical Supervisor is great for you if:

  • You hold a Full driving licence and relevant JIB Gold Card or ECS card
  • You have proven industry experience in the Water Industry with competent judgement and problem‑solving skills
  • You hold C&G 2330 or 2360 in electrical installations, NVQ Level 3 in electrical installations, and C&G 2391 Inspect and Test
  • You have IEE 18th edition wiring regulations, SMSTS, and Confined Spaces qualifications
  • You have good working knowledge of sewage and water treatment processes, systems, and typical M&E plant and equipment
