Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for our Thames Water Framework team based at Maple Lodge in Rickmansworth. The role involves leading electrical delivery across multiple subprojects, ensuring design integration, CDM compliance, and proactive liaison with client operations.

Based in Maple Lodge with potential remote working and occasional travel to the office; 45-hour weeks with flexible hours available.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Waste Water engineering and key equipment designs.
  • Familiarity with MCC build and systems integration, HV/LV subsystems, DNO.
  • Proven track record delivering large wastewater schemes (≥ £50m).
  • Ability to conduct factory acceptance testing and sign-off URS/FDS.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical engineering delivery for multiple schemes, coordinating with Tier 2 Supply Chain design teams.
  • Collaborate with design partners to ensure constructability and CDM compliance; review outputs.
  • Liaise with client engineering/operations to meet KPIs within budget.
  • Manage procurement of plant, materials and subcontractors; prepare estimates and contracts.
  • Mentor graduate electrical engineers and develop future talent.

Job description

We're looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Thames Water Framework team based in Maple Lodge, Rickmansworth.

Location: Maple Lodge, Rickmansworth - remote working may be available, with occasional travel to the office required.

Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Join us as a Senior Electrical Engineer on an exciting major project for Thames Water at Maple Lodge. You'll play a key role in delivering multiple electrical aspects across four main subprojects, including tertiary treatment renewal, secondary treatment intensification, improvements to inlet works, and substantial upgrades to electrical infrastructure. This is an opportunity to work collaboratively with our design partners and supply chain to create innovative solutions that meet our client's requirements whilst maintaining the highest health, safety, and environmental standards.

What will you be responsible for?
  • Leading electrical engineering delivery for multiple schemes, collaborating with Tier 2 Supply Chain design teams to ensure designs are fully integrated, clash-free, and compliant with specifications
  • Working alongside our design partner to ensure constructability and CDM compliance, including reviewing and approving design outputs
  • Liaising with the client's engineering and operational staff to meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators within budget constraints
  • Managing procurement of plant, materials, and specialist subcontractors, preparing estimates, quotations, and contract documentation
  • Mentoring and supporting graduate electrical engineers, helping to develop the next generation of talent
What are we looking for?
  • You have a strong working knowledge of Waste Water Engineering, including key suppliers and process equipment designs
  • You're familiar with MCC build and systems integration, including HV and LV subsystems, DNO, and site power supply requirements
  • You have experience delivering large Waste Water schemes valued over £50 million
  • You can conduct factory acceptance testing and software reviews, including URS and FDS sign-offs
  • You hold a Full driving licence
