Job summary

Southern Water is seeking a Process Technician - Electrician to join our wastewater treatment team in Chichester, with travel to sites from Portsmouth to Bognor and a valid UK driving licence. You will maintain and repair wastewater treatment works, sludge centres, and pumping stations, ensuring environmental, quality, and safety standards are met.

The role involves reactive and planned maintenance, installing new plant and equipment, and responding to alarms.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ Electrical qualification with certificates.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Experience in water industry (desirable).
• Strong understanding of pumping station operation and wastewater treatment process.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation.
• Knowledge of Mechanical Systems.

Responsibilities

• Undertake reactive and planned maintenance of plant and equipment.
• Install new plant and equipment as required.
• Respond to alarms and fault-find issues, fixing or escalating as needed.
• Carry out inspection and testing on electrical equipment following company procedures.
• Provide technical expertise to internal and external contractors.
• Update company systems and databases accurately and promptly.
