Job summary

James Lewis Recruitment seeks an experienced Electrical Project Manager for a live data centre project in Essex. The role requires taking technical ownership of the electrical package, resolving design and coordination issues, and keeping the project moving on a permanent basis.

You will manage RFIs, drawing queries, and close-out with design consultants and subcontractors, coordinating with other services to avoid clashes and ensure scope compliance.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical building services experience, preferably within data centres or critical infrastructure.
• Hands-on knowledge of busbar, LV power, containment, fire systems.
• Experience resolving design/coordination issues and close-out activities.

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of the electrical package, resolving design/coordination issues.
• Process RFIs, drawing queries and technical close-out with design consultants and subcontractors.
• Coordinate electrical scope with mechanical, fire, and BMS to avoid clashes.
• Oversee delivery of busbar, LV power distribution, fire/smoke systems, containment, and small power installations.
• Review method statements, risk assessments and ITPs for the electrical package.
• Monitor progress against programme, flag risks early, drive technical issue resolution.
• Liaise with commissioning teams for smooth handover from install to test/commissioning.
• Maintain up-to-date technical documentation (RFIs, submittals, red-line drawings).
