Job summary

Hunter Selection is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a multi-site manufacturing group. The role focuses on maintaining electrical distribution systems, HV switchgear and process utilities while leading proactive and reactive maintenance across shifts.

Candidates should have strong PLC fault-finding skills and extensive experience with AC/DC motors and drives. A track record in lean improvements and project delivery is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of electrical control principles and hardware to support technicians.
• Experience with AC/DC motors, drives and PLC fault finding is essential.
• Good process knowledge and project management skills.
• Resilience to solve complex problems and maintain safe production continuity.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards.
• Provide hands-on support to multiskilled technicians across shifts.
• Monitor and maintain electrical distribution systems, HV switch gear, process water and compressors.
• Manage technical projects: new machine design, retro-fits and improvements.
• Support maintenance metrics: PMs, downtime, MTBF/MTTR improvements.
• Lead lean and continuous improvement initiatives to boost performance.

A Electrical Maintenance Engineer is required to join their highly skilled team as soon as possible.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Ensure adherence and improvement in all safety and environmental standards.


• Provide hands-on, practical support to a team of multiskilled technicians, who operate across a variety of shift patterns, completing both proactive and reactive Maintenance activities.


• Ensure site services, including HV switch gear, electrical distribution systems, process water and compressors are monitored and maintained.


• Support / manage project activity, including the technical specification, planning and delivery of projects such as new machine design, retro-fitments and improvement activities.


• Support the achievement of all maintenance measures, including; PPM Completion %, Shift Task Close Out Ratio, Machine Downtime, Breakdown and fault reduction activity, meantime between failure, meantime to repair, etc


• Implement lean / continuous improvement activity and strategy to improve performance and drive site sustainability using tools such as 5Why and FMEA to identify areas needing improvement.


• Support the identification and implementation of actions to minimise conversion costs, with specific focus on Energy and Maintenance spend.


• Identify and implement innovative technical solutions to overcome maintenance problems.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Good understanding of electrical control principles and hardware to provide technical support to technicians


• Excellent experience working with AC/DC Motors and Drives, PLC fault finding capability is a must.


• Excellent process based knowledge and project management skills


• The resilience to deal with complex problems, in a pressured environment with the ability to implement solutions to ensure safe production continuity
