Smart Search Technical Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer in Peterborough with travel across the region. The role covers planned and reactive maintenance on a range of sites, ensuring compliance with BS7671 and CDM requirements.

You will perform fault-finding, minor installations, and testing, while providing professional client liaison and accurate reporting. A full UK driving licence and 18th Edition are essential.

Qualifications

• Recognised electrical qualification such as NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations – essential.
• Testing & inspection qualification such as 2391 – desirable.
• Previous commercial, industrial or facilities maintenance experience.
• Strong electrical fault-finding skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Good communication and customer-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance.
• Fault-find and repair electrical systems.
• Complete minor installations, upgrades, rewires and refurbishment works.
• Carry out testing and inspection of electrical installations.
• Complete job sheets, reports and RAMS.
• Liaise professionally with clients and site contacts.
• Price and quote small works where required.
• Ensure all work meets BS7671, CDM and health & safety requirements.
• Work independently across multiple client sites.

Salary: Up to £43,860 (£21.00 per hour), depending on experience

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our Facilities Maintenance team. The role involves working across a range of commercial, industrial and educational sites, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance alongside small works.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance
• Fault-find and repair electrical systems
• Complete minor installations, upgrades, rewires and refurbishment works
• Carry out testing and inspection of electrical installations
• Complete job sheets, reports and RAMS
• Liaise professionally with clients and site contacts
• Price and quote small works where required
• Ensure all work meets BS7671, CDM and health & safety requirements
• Work independently across multiple client sites

What We're Looking For
