Dovetail and Slate is looking for a Lecturer in Electrical Installation to join the School of Engineering - Technology and Innovation in Middlesex. You will deliver and assess practical workshops and theory for EAL and City & Guilds courses while supporting student progression.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ in Electrical Installation (or equivalent) and GCSE English/Maths at Grade C/4 or equivalent.
• Proven hands‑on industry experience within electrical installation. Teaching, training, or workplace assessing experience is desirable.
• A Level 5 teaching qualification (DET/PGCE) is welcomed. If you do not hold one, the College will fully fund and support you to achieve it on the job.

Responsibilities

• Teaching & Assessment: Prepare, deliver, and assess engaging practical workshop sessions and theoretical classroom lessons across EAL and City & Guilds Electrical Installation courses.
• Student Support & Progression: Conduct academic progress reviews, student inductions, and tutoring to ensure learner retention, achievement, and readiness for industry or higher education.
• Curriculum & Workshop Management: Maintain high standards of health, safety, and workshop organization, while developing schemes of work, lesson plans, and digital learning resources.
• Recruitment & Guidance: Participate in open evenings, applicant interviews, and recruitment events to guide prospective students.
