Job summary

Orion Electrotech Automation in Mansfield is seeking an Electrical Estimator to join our team on a permanent basis. The role offers a salary of £30,000–£50,000 DOE and a standard 37.5-hour week.

You will produce quotations for engineered electrical products, price inquiries of varying complexity, and prepare costings based on specifications, drawings and manufacturing input. Collaboration with Sales, Engineering and Production will be essential to deliver accurate estimates.

Qualifications

• Experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of electrical principles, drawings, and infrastructure.
• Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple enquiries simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Confident communicator, comfortable liaising internally and externally.
• Junior level: willingness to learn, strong attitude, and desire to progress within estimating.
• Senior level: proven experience handling complex quotations and providing technical/commercial guidance.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate and timely quotations for engineered electrical products, ensuring compliance standards.
• Manage and price customer enquiries ranging from smaller, straightforward quotations through to large, technically complex tenders.
• Interpret customer specifications, electrical drawings, and schematics to prepare robust costings.
• Compile estimates covering materials, labour, manufacturing processes, and subcontracted activities.
• Liaise with internal departments including Sales, Engineering, Planning, and Production to gather technical and commercial input.
• Communicate with customers pre‑order to clarify requirements and resolve technical or commercial queries.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and documentation in line with the management system.
